Thelma Emery
June 16, 1919 — November 24, 2012
Thelma L. Emery, age 93, a resident of Portland passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Persimmon Ridge Rehabilitation Center. She was employed at Jay Garment in Portland and retired from Berne Furniture in 1980. She was a 1937 graduate of Muncie Central High School.
She was born June 16, 1919 in Muncie, Indiana the daughter of Carl and Odessa (Faller) Maynard. She was married to Edward "Buck" Emery in 1941. He passed away in 1979.
Survivors Include:
1 Son- Stan Emery (wife- Eileen), Portland, In.
1 Daughter- Cathy McClain (husband-Jim), Orland, In.
1 Sister- Betty Fisher, Santa Maria, Ca.
6 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren
1 Daughter deceased- Judy Journay (husband- Larry), passed away July 15, 2002
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Flint Redwine will officiate and burial will follow in the Salamonia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-7pm Monday at the funeral home.
