Thelma M. Phillips, age 92 a former resident of Portland, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 in Goodyear, Arizona.
Thelma was born on Sept. 19. 1926, in Randolph County, Indiana, the daughter of Ray and Stella (Newton) Prescott. She was a member of Collett Church of the Nazarene. Thelma married Elvin Phillips, Sr. on August 15, 1947 and he passed away on November 15, 2012.
Survivors include:
1 son: Larry Phillips – Waddell, Arizona
1 daughter: Linda Timmons (husband Ronnie) – Lynchburg, Virginia
2 sisters: Ruth Bowser (husband Ed) – Anderson, Indiana
Sylvia Ditmar – Union City, Ohio
10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 son Elvin Phillips, Jr., 5 sisters and 1 brother.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Bluff Point Cemetery, south of Portland.
Arrangements entrusted to Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.
