Velma “Dolly” Snodgrass, age 100, a resident of Union City, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Pine Knoll in Winchester. She was a former resident of Portland.

Dolly was born December 16, 1925, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of Anthony and Mary (Richard) Willy. She was a member of the Jay County Hospital Auxiliary, Portland Eagles Lodge Auxiliary and Friendship Club of Portland. She married Warren Snodgrass on June 21, 1979 and he passed away on July 13, 2008.

Her children: Mary Lunz (husband Larry) – Ft. Wayne, Indiana

Lisa Arnold (husband John) – Union City, Indiana

9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by a daughter Sue Bolyard and a son Steve Bowland

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12-2 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Pastor Bob Meckley will officiate and burial will follow at New Pittsburg Cemetery, south of Portland.
