Waldo Hudson, Sr.

Waldo Hudson, Sr., age 85, a former resident of Salamonia, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Albany Health and Rehab in Albany, Indiana.

Waldo was born on September 17, 1938, in Jay County, Indiana, the son of Francis and Marie (Skinner) Hudson.  He graduated from Saratoga High School and served in the U.S. Army National Guard for 24 years.  Waldo retired from Sheller Globe in Union City after 24 years so service.  He was a member of Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Association and American Legion Post #211 of Portland.  Waldo married Nilah (Landers) on January 7, 1960 and she passed away on March 16, 2021.

Tim Hudson – Winchester, Indiana

Doug Hudson – Salamonia, Indiana

Cathy Hudson – Kokomo, Indiana

1 sister:  Marie Joyce Hagerman (husband Herm) – Churubusco, Indiana

9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Clevenger, a brother, Steven Hudson and a great-grandson.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.  Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.  Pastor Phil Rogers will officiate and burial will follow at Salamonia Cemetery in Salamonia, Indiana.  American Legion Post #211 of Portland will conduct military rites at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed towards Jay County 4-H Shooting Sports or Heart to Heart Hospice.
