Yvonne Kreeger

Yvonne Kreeger, age 80, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Lutheran Life Village in Fort Wayne.  She was a resident of Bluffton and a former resident of Portland.

Yvonne was born on March 29, 1937, in Harlan County, Kentucky, the daughter of William “W.O.” Otis and Preshie (Halcomb) Rutherford.  She graduated from Deputy High School in Deputy, Indiana and earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Education from Ball State University.  She worked for the Jay School Corporation as an Elementary Teacher for several schools including Randolph County and Jay County School Corporation.  She attended New Mount Pleasant Church in Jay County and Bluffton United Methodist Church in Bluffton, Indiana.  She married David Kreeger on December 21, 1959 and he passed away on August 24, 2017.

Survivors include:

2 daughters:  Laura Reinhard (husband David) – Fort Wayne, Indiana

Amy Methueselah  - Thornton, Colorado

6 grandchildren: Jonathan, Ana, and Sarah Methuselah, Dominic, Dartagnan, and Deatra Reinhard.

Several cousins, nieces and nephews

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.  Funeral services will follow on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at a later date in the Pisgah Cemetery in Deputy, Indiana.
