Allen J. Reitz, 75, a resident of Portland, Indiana passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020, at his home.
Allen was born on March 2, 1945, in Hamilton, Ohio, to Paul and Mildred (King) Reitz. He graduated from Portland High School in 1963. Allen married Nancy Lee (Pyle) on June 26, 1965. Allen worked for the Indiana Gas Company and Vectren Energy Corporation as a Project Engineer. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Portland Morning Optimist Club, Jay County Historical Society, and Goldwing Motorcycle Club. Allen thoroughly enjoyed riding his motorcycle, traveling to all 48 contiguous states, all 92 Indiana Courthouses, every Catholic Church in the Lafayette Diocese, and riding on every county road in Jay County. Allen also really enjoyed visiting Presidential Libraries and woodworking.

Rose Marie Scheumann (husband Dennis) – New Haven, Indiana
Diane Villhard (husband Victor) – Colorado Springs, Colorado
1 brother: Mark Reitz (wife Brenda) – Greenville, Ohio
2 grandchildren: Ethan Reitz (Euless, Texas) and Caroline Reitz (Columbus, Ohio)
1 step-grandchild: Katherine Galvan (Dallas, Texas)
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mildred (King) Reitz and 2 brothers; John and Harold Reitz.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 23, 2020, from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland, Indiana. A prayer service will be held at 8:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, before the service from 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portland with Father Peter F. Logsdon officiating. Burial will follow at Green Park Cemetery in Portland.
Memorials may be directed towards the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Altar Rosary Scholarship Fund.
