Carolyn "Sue" Friend Obituary

     Carolyn “Sue” Friend, age 78, a resident of Portland, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Albany Health and Rehabilitation Center in Albany, Indiana.

     Sue was born May 29, 1943 in Portland, the daughter of Kenneth and Mary Anna (Zigler) Hinshaw. Sue Retired from Pennville Custom Cabinets after 20 years. She was a member of R.E.A.C.T. and Circle X where she enjoyed square dancing. Sue married John Friend on December 18, 1965.

Survivors include:

 Her husband: John Friend – Portland, Indiana

2 sons: Danny Weaver – Portland, Indiana

            Gary Weaver – Portland, Indiana

1 daughter: Karen Faught (husband Robert) – Portland, Indiana

1 sister: Ruth Bruss (husband Butch) – Portland, Indiana

9 grandchildren: Erin, Telisa, Laura, Sara, Kristy, James, Bailey, Jayden, Megan

12 great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren Adam and Garrie Weaver

            Visitation will be held Monday from 2-7pm at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral will be held Tuesday at 11am at the funeral home. Pastor Herb Hummel will officiate the service and burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery, west of Bryant.
