Cora May McLaughlin, age 81, a resident of rural Portland in Greene Township, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Hospitality Home in Xenia, Ohio.
Cora was born on November 22, 1932, in Normal City (Muncie), Indiana, the daughter of A.C. and May (Hollingsworth) Cheeseman. She and her husband owned and operated Cheeseman Sales and Service on East Water Street in Portland for many years and farmed in Greene Township for many years. Cora worked for Juillerat Trucking for over 50 years. She was a member of the Blaine United Methodist Church in rural Portland. Cora married Richard “Dick” McLaughlin on June 22, 1952 and he passed away on November 8, 2003.

1 son: Richard L. McLaughlin (wife Diane) – Lebanon, Ohio
1 daughter: Debra Zweber (husband Jeffrey) – Xenia, Ohio
3 sisters: Gloria Green – rural Portland, Indiana
Sara Cline (husband John) – Greenfield, Indiana
Dixie Batt (husband Tom) – Winchester, Indiana
2 brothers: Chester Cheeseman (wife Hilda) – rural Portland, Indiana
Phillip Cheeseman (wife Lynn) – West Lafayette, Indiana
4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Heather Dawn Jackson and a sister, Margaret Cheeseman.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Visitation will also be held 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Pastor Gary Phillips and Pastor Derek Horton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Claycomb Cemetery, south west of Portland.
