Curt McLaughlin, age 61, a resident of Portland, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021 at his home in Portland.
Curt was born on July 25, 1959, in Portland, the son of Glen and Nancy Jo (Gillespie) McLaughlin. He graduated from Jay County High School in 1978. He married Tammy Blazer on March 6, 1982.
Curt worked for Rodefeld’s and NAPA in Portland for many years. He was a 25 year member of the Jay County Fair Association where he was instrumental in the formation of the Junior Fair Board. He worked tirelessly as organizer for the Demolition Derby during the fair for many years. Other memberships include Son of the American Legion in Portland, Arch Bridge Kroozers and Portland Evening Optimist Club.

2 brothers: Scott McLaughlin (wife Tiffany) – Redkey, Indiana

Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Services to celebrate Curt’s life will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Pastor Kevin McClung will officiate the service and burial will follow at Green Park Cemetery in Portland.
