Donald Johnson Obituary

Donald Johnson, age 85, a former resident of Portland, passed away on December 17, 2021 at Adams Heritage Health in Monroeville, Indiana.

Donald was born July 22, 1936 in Battle Creek, Michigan, the son of Chase and Louisa (Sunday) Johnson. Donald graduated from Dunkirk High School then retired from Jay County Hospital. He was a member of the Portland Moose and Portland Elks. In his spare time Donald was an avid fisherman.

He married Karen White on March 31, 1973. Karen passed away on May 6, 2020.

Survivors Include:

2 sons: Donald Johnson II (wife Breanna) – Reidsville, North Carolina

Carter Johnson (wife Keri) – Tucson, Arizona

1 daughter: Valerie Smith (husband Randy) – Portland, Indiana

14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren

He was preceded in death by a sister Carol Messer.
