Dorothy Strohl Obituary

     Dorothy L. Strohl, age 81 a resident of Portland passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Persimmon Ridge Rehabilitation Center.  She worked at CVS Drugstore and Family Dollar in Portland.  She was a member of the Portland Moose Auxiliary for many years. 

     Dorothy Strohl was born September 18, 1937 in Pike County, Kentucky the daughter of William and Verdie (Varney) Slater.  She was married on July 12, 1969 to James P. Strohl and he passed away on April 30, 1999.

Survivors Include:

1 Son- Roger Strohl, Portland, Indiana

2 Daughters- Deborah Songer, Portland, Indiana and Rita Morgan, Portland, Indiana

2 Sisters- Mary Lou Mays, Delphos, Ohio and Nina Varney, Huddy, Kentucky

8 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by a son Chris Maynard, a brother- William Slater, and a sister- Pat Pennington.

   Visitation for Dorothy Strohl will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday in the Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.  Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Steve Arnold officiating the services.  Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery in Portland.
