Gail Brinkerhoff

Gail Brinkerhoff, age 86, a resident of rural Portland, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at his home in rural Portland. 

Gail was born on June 9, 1936, in Portland, Indiana, the son of Floyd and Catherine (Rockwell) Brinkerhoff.  He graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Chemistry.  Gail served in the U.S. Army and worked as an Industrial Hygienist for the Department of the Navy and was a cattle farmer in Virginia.  He was also a farmer in Greene Township, Jay County.  Gail was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed watching and playing baseball.

His son:  Eric Brinkerhoff – Indianapolis, Indiana

His siblings:  Janet Minch – Muncie, Indiana

                      Cloyce Brinkerhoff – Portland, Indiana

                      Neil Brinkerhoff (wife Carol) – Ladoga, Indiana

1 grandson:  Stephen Brinkerhoff

            Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2023 from 12-2 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland with a memorial service to follow. Burial will be at Salamonia Cemetery in Salamonia, Indiana.
