Helen Schwartz Obituary

Helen Schwartz, 95, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2020 in Muncie, Indiana. Helen was born on May 17, 1925 in Jay County, Indiana to Stanton and Ruth Miller.

      In 1948 Helen married Dudley Schwartz, and had two children Sam and Debra. Helen worked during World War II at Shellers Manufacturing and then after graduating from Warner Beauty School in Fort Wayne in 1945 worked as a beautician for 30 years.  She also worked at the Millenary Dress and Hat Shop in Portland for several years.   Helen is a past President of Portland American Legion Auxiliary, DAV Auxiliary, Alpha Delta Chapter GAMA NU Sorority, Member of Women of the Moose Portland and past President of Demolay mother’s organization. She was also a member of Portland Moose Lodge.

     Helen is survived by her son William Samuel Schwartz (wife Susan) and daughter Debra Maxine Schwartz, granddaughters Angelica Ladd (husband Matt) and Allysia Oesterreich (husband Stephen) and great grandsons Hunter Ladd, Dakota Ladd and Theo Oesterreich. Nieces, who are daughters of her sister Victoria Miller Dingley include; Marsue, Ranelle, Nannette Meaerdith, Vickie and Heather.

     She is preceded in death by her husband Dudley Schwartz and siblings Robert, Samuel, Stanton Jr., Joseth and Victoria Miller.

                Memorials may be directed toward the donor’s choice. 

                Following the request of Helen, no services will be held.
