Homer E. Steen

Homer E. Steen, age 93, a resident of Portland passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Albany Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

     Homer was born December 31, 1926 in Portland, Indiana the son of Frank and Delia (Geesman) Steen. He was a veteran of the US Army and served during WWII, he then retired from Sheller Globe after 36 years. Homer was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Portland D.A.V. and the Portland American Legion.

     Homer married Dorothy (Gaskill) Steen on July 11, 1953 she passed away on June 26, 2014.

2 sons: Homer Allen Steen (wife Becki) – Portland, Indiana

            Jack Steen (wife Diane) – Celina, Ohio

3 grandchildren: Amanda Kendall (husband Stephen) – Hartford City, Indiana

                            Jeremy Steen (wife Becky) – Albuquerque, New Mexico

                           Stephanie Smith (husband Russ) – Avilla, Indiana

7 great grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and several brothers and sisters.

     Visitation will be held Tuesday from 12 p.m.-2 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral will follow at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow with military rites in Wells Cemetery, north of Portland.

Memorials may be directed to Cornerstone Baptist Church in Portland.
