Janet Flauding

Janet Flauding, age 80, a resident of Muncie, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis.   She was a former resident of Gaston and Bryant. 

            Janet was born on December 9, 1940, in Bryant, Indiana, the daughter of Walter and Anna Ruth (Roser) Stump.  She married Max Flauding on July 3, 1956 and he passed away on September 21, 2018.  Janet was a member of the Avondale Sympathy Club. 

            Survivors include:

            3 daughters:  Cathy Reffitt (husband James) – Gaston, Indiana

                                 Vicky Bennett (husband Scott) – Gaston, Indiana

                                 Anita Wiemer (husband Bruce) – Albany, Indiana

            2 sons:  David Flauding (companion Candi Clawson) – Pennville, Indiana

                         John Flauding (wife Jacqulynn) – Muncie, Indiana

            2 brothers:  Walter “Bill” Stump (wife Karen) – Ft. Recovery, Ohio

                                Leland “Babe” Stump (wife Shirley) – Geneva, Indiana

            1 sister:  Gladys Twigg

            11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren

            She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Flauding, a son; Max William Flauding; a daughter; Deborah Flauding and a great-grandson Mason Manship. 

            Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.  Services to celebrate Janet’s life will follow at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Pastors Albert and James Reffitt will officiate the service and burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery, west of Bryant.
