Janet Meihls

November 9, 1950 — June 24, 2016

Janet Meihls, age 65, a resident of Bryant, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2016, at her home in Bryant.

Janet was born on November 9, 1950, the daughter of Henry and Norma (Wells) Alberding.  She was a member of the Waynesfield Baptist Church in Waynesfield, Ohio and the Bryant Wesleyan Church in Bryant, Indiana.  Other memberships include Waynesfield Goshen Home Economics Club, Waynesfield Goshen 4-H Club and the Waynesfield Goshen Choir.  She married David Lee Meihls on June 28, 1969 and he passed away on November 27, 1995.

Survivors include:

Her companion:  Joseph Selsor – Bryant, Indiana

2 sons:  Charles William Meihls (wife Elizabeth) – Lima, Ohio

Shawn David Meihls – Lima, Ohio

1 daughter:  Katina Lee Miller (husband Jonathan) – Bryant, Indiana

1 step-daughter: Brianna Rumbaugh – Cridersville, Ohio

2 sisters:  Mary Schoonover – Lima, Ohio

Connie Blakley – Lima, Ohio

2 brothers:  Benjamin Ruff – San Diego, California

Bob Alberding – Lima, Ohio

Sister-in-law:  Betty Alberding – Lima, Ohio

Brother-in-law:  James McWhorter – Indian Lake, Ohio

Son-in-law:  Rodney Bower – Minster, Ohio

Her God Daughter:  Sherri Harrell – McGuffey, Ohio

18 grandchildren:  Ryan William Bower, Shianna Bower, Ashley Leigh Bower, Austin Drew Bower, Megan Meihls, Carter Meihls, Kylee Meihls, Kaylynn Meihls, Shawn Meihls, Jr. and Logan David Meihls.  Step-grandchildren:  Leanna Miller, Caitlyn Miller, Joseph Miller, Preston Hemmelgarn, Andrew Moneer, Lisa Bower, Clayton Bower and Dustin Bower.

1 great-grandchild:  Addalynn Grace Bower

4 step-great grandchildren: Maddalynn Bower, Westin Bower, Chance Bower and Fay Bower

She was preceded in death by 2 sister-in laws, Paula Newton and Carol McWhorter and a brother-in-law, Bob Newton

Visitation will be held on Monday from 5-7 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.  Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lima, Ohio.

Memorials may be directed towards the family in care of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home.
