Jerry Lofton, Jr.

     Jerry Lofton, Jr., age 64, a resident of Dunkirk, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at his home in Dunkirk. 

     Jerry was born on November 12, 1958, in Portland, Indiana, the son of Jerry Lofton, Sr. and Nancy Joan (Earls) Gamester.  Jerry graduated from Jay County High School in 1976 and worked as a truck driver, a driver for Schwartz Construction and a driver for Amish school children.  He was a member of the Eagles Lodge of Portland. 

     Survivors include:

     His parents:  Nancy Joan Gamester – Redkey, Indiana

                         Jerry Lofton, Sr. – Athens, Tennessee

     Brothers:  Tim Lofton – Lake Alfred, Florida

                      Doug Davis (wife Nylisa) – Redkey, Indiana

     He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Lofton, step-father, Jack Gamester and maternal grandparents, Chiles and Ernie Rouch. 

     Visitation will be held on Monday from 12-2 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.  Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.  Pastor Joe Hines will officiate and burial will follow at Lawndale Cemetery, west of Deerfield. 

     Memorials may be directed towards Jay County Humane Society or Jay Randolph Developmental Services.
