Kathy Moyer

            Kathy Moyer, age 65, a resident of New Castle, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at her home in New Castle.  She was a former resident of Portland.         

            Kathy was born on April 16, 1955, in Paulding, Ohio, the daughter of Lloyd and Josephine (Mundorff) Moyer.  She graduated from Carroll High School in Fort Wayne and earned an associate’s degree from the University of Phoenix.  Kathy was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving for 17 years.  She worked for McDonald’s in Portland and was a member of the D.A.V in Portland, V.F.W. in Portland and American Legion Post #211 in Portland. 

            Survivors include:

            3 daughters:  Amy Osborne (husband Mark) – Portland, Indiana

                                  Kathy Chesher (husband Scott) – New Castle, Indiana

                                  Tammy Kintz – Angola, Indiana

            2 sisters:  Geraldine Moyer – New Haven, Indiana

                             Shelby Jean Johnson (husband Bill) – Ft. Wayne, Indiana

            3 brothers:  Rick Moyer (wife Penny) – New Castle, Indiana

                                Terry Moyer – Muncie, Indiana

                                Butch Moyer  - New Haven, Indiana

            11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren

            She was preceded in death by a grandson, Izzy Duncan. 

            Visitation will be held on Monday, May 18, 2020 from 1-4 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.  Memorial services will follow at 4 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.  Graveside services with military honors will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at 10 a.m. in South Mound Cemetery in New Castle, Indiana.
