Mary Janet Lewis

Mary Janet Lewis, age 84, a resident of Portland, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana.

Janet was born on January 20, 1937, in Portland, Indiana, the daughter of Robert and Frances (Priest) Lewis.  She graduated from Portland High School and worked for United Phone Company for 31 ½ years, retiring in 1987.  Janet was a member of West Walnut Street Church of Christ in Portland.

Survivors include several cousins.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 12-2 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.  Services to celebrate Janet’s life will follow at 2 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.  Pastor Gil Alicea will officiate the service and burial will follow at IOOF Twin Hill Cemetery in Pennville.

Memorials may be directed towards the Jay County Humane Society or the donor’s choice.
