Nola Lanning, age 86 passed away peacefully at her rural Portland home on Monday, December 27, 2021. She and her husband farmed in Pike Twp. for many years. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Portland.
Nola Lanning was born June 4, 1935 in West Manchester, Ohio the daughter of Ralph and Ruby Middleton. She was married to Bob Lanning on April 16, 1952. Nola willingly embraced God’s call on her life. She was a virtuous wife, a sacrificing mother and a loving grandmother. Her greatest desire was to see all of her children in the “Ark of safety” as she would say as she prayed for each of her family members. They renewed their marriage vows in 2002 to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.

Her beloved husband of 69 years- Bob Lanning, Portland
Son- Larry Lanning, Portland
3 Daughters- Carol Limbert, Portland, Geraldine Robbins (husband-Wendell), Portland, and Tammy Koppelman (husband-Ron), Bluffton.
Brother- Gary Middleton (wife-Judy), Ansonia, Ohio
10 Grandchildren , 15 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Lanning, son in law, Chris Limbert, grandson, Mike Limbert and a brother Ralph Middleton.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Please join us to celebrate her life. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00pm-3:00pm Wednesday at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Services to celebrate the life of Nola Lanning will immediately follow at 3:00pm at the funeral home. Pastor Hugh Kelly will officiate the services and burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery southeast of Portland.
