Norma DeVoss, age 95, a resident of rural Portland, passed away Monday, April 5, 2021 at her home in Portland.
Norma was born September 25, 1925 in Randolph County, the daughter of Amos Edward and Cecil Viola (Kelly) Philebaum. Norma graduated from Green Township School in Randolph County. She was a cook at I.P. Gray, Redkey Elementary and the Jay School Corporation, and farmed many years in Jefferson township. Norma was a member of New Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church.
Norma married Jim DeVoss on August 6, 1947, he passed away on December 6, 2000
Survivors include:
3 sons: Larry DeVoss (wife- Jane Cunningham) – Franklin, Indiana
Gary DeVoss (wife Kay) – Redkey, Indiana
Tim DeVoss (wife Charlotte) – Portland, Indiana
13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren
Visitation will be held Thursday from 4pm-8pm at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 am at the funeral home. Pastor Huey Kelly will officiate the service and burial will take place at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie.
Memorials may be directed to New Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church or Everheart Hospice.
