Robert Duane “Bud” Study passed away on November 19 at age 100 in Gaylord, MI. He was a former resident of rural Redkey.
Bud was born in Union City, Ohio to his parents John and Ruth (DeBolt) Study, the oldest child of 13. He was pre deceased by his parents, 4 sisters Betty, Ona, Ina and Ila and brothers Jean, Bill, Jack, Ken, Earl and Larry, his wife of 50 years Florence (Limbert) Study, and his second wife June (Shawver) Study of Redkey, IN. He is survived by his sister Joyce and brother Jon, June’s children Steve and Linda, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
Bud was a veteran of U.S. Army in WWII and rejoined the army in the 1950’s to serve at Ft. Eielson in Fairbanks, Alaska. Upon his military retirement he worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Muncie, IN until full retirement.
He was an advocate of Adele Simpson’s holistic medicine, Rachel Carson’s environmental practices and a huge fan of Sudoku puzzles. Bud was a lifelong mechanic and a farmer at heart. He will be remembered for helping others and was a generous contributor to The Portland Foundation. He was a preacher of common sense.
Graveside services will be held at a later date.
