Cora Bourne

Cora O. Bourne, age 95, a resident of rural Pennville, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016, at Crown Pointe in Portland.  She worked at Grant’s Drugstore in Pennville and also the Jay County Surveyors Office.  She graduated from Pennville High School in 1939 and was a member of the Pennville American Legion Auxiliary and the Pennville Friends Church.

Cora was born on March 31, 1921, in Muncie, Indiana, the daughter of Charles and Orilla (Bowen) Denney.  She married Sanford L. Bourne on November 20, 1940 and he passed away on October 8, 2004. 

Survivors include:

1 Daughter:  Linda Crockett (husband Jim) – House Springs, Missouri

5 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, 5 Great Great Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by a son, William Bourne

Visitation will be held from 12-2pm on Friday in the Pennville Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm at the funeral home.  Rick Downing will officiate the services and burial will follow in the IOOF Twin Hills Cemetery in Pennville
